Bangjoo Kim collects objects he discovers while on walks, and constructs narratives around them. While walking is a form of transportation towards a somewhere, it sometimes becomes a metaphor for a means to serve a specific purpose, or a standard that should be followed. What would it be like to just focus on moving the body and walking, rather than thinking about trying to arrive somewhere? What landscape would we see and what experiences would we come across? For about four months, the artist took off on strolls without destinations around where he stayed, and came across a number of objects during these walks. While they may not be any special objects, they nonetheless occupied a certain place on the road and grabbed the artist’s attention. Kim brought these objects into his studio, and observed them for a long time, touching them, and forming relationships with them. After such deferred period of time, short stories are made as a kind of testimony or statement about the objects. Perhaps our paths are filled with objects with such special stories. The objects, stationed throughout the exhibition space and subtlely intervening in the visitors’ way, are ready to take off on a trip to somewhere else in someone else’s hands.

The title, or the stories of the 64 individual works on the planks, are held back. Pick up the work and deliver it to the person holding a wooden cane. The title, or the story of each work, is delivered through a letter.
